Soft and Delicious Garlic Breadsticks

These homemade garlic breadsticks are perfect as an appetizer, snack, or side dish with soups, salads, and pizzas. Yeast mixture made from WARM water, sugar, and active dry yeast makes it foamy and creates a perfect smooth and elastic dough. Soft and Delicious Garlic Breadsticks
Ingredients
For Yeast Mixture :
- 1/2 Cup Warm Water
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tsp Active Dry Yeast
For Dough:
- 1 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 1 Tsp Oregano
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Melted butter
- 1/2 Cup Yeast Mixture
- 1 Tsp Olive Oil
For Brushing :
- 2 1/2 Tbsp Melted Butter
- 1/2 Tsp Parsley
- 1/4 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 Tsp Salt and Pepper
- 1 Tsp Parmesan Cheese Powder
Instructions
For Yeast Mixture:
- In a bowl, add warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir and rest for 10 minutes to get a foamy yeast and set aside.
For Dough:
- In a large bowl, add all purpose flour, garlic powder, salt, and oregano and using a spoon dry mix everything.
- Now, add melted butter and yeast mixture. Knead well for about 8-10 minutes to form a smooth and elastic dough. Spread some olive oil on the dough.
- Cover and rest the dough for about 2 hours. Allow it to rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
- Once again knead the well rised dough for a few minutes. Dust some flour on the rolling board surface and using a rolling pin, roll the dough to a rectangle shape.
- Using a knife or a pizza cutter, slice the flattened dough into strips that are around 8-10 inches long and 1 inch wide.
- Place each stick ½ inch apart on a greased parchment paper. Cover and rest for 30 minutes for the second rise of the dough.
For Brushing:
- Meanwhile, add melted butter, parsley, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese powder in a small bowl and mix well.
- Brush each stick with the butter mixture. Preheat the oven to 400ºF and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove breadsticks from the oven and brush butter mixture for the second time.
- Soft, fluffy, and delicious hot garlic breadsticks are ready.
